Schererville Soccer Club Travel teams play in the Northwest Indiana Soccer League. NWISL, a member of SAY Soccer, is a league comprised of 22 Clubs throughout Northwest Indiana. NWISL is a recreational-plus league to help promote the game of soccer with the emphasis on teaching the game of soccer to young players while maintaining the fun of the game. Teams will have home games in Schererville and away games at their opponents’ fields in Northwest Indiana.
REGISTRATION DATES
Open registration period is 10/13/2023 12:00 AM - 02/9/2024 11:59 PM.
(Waitlist will be opened if divisions are filled. If spots open, they will be filled on first come, first served basis)
Registration Closes 02/9/2024 (This is the last day to register). There is NO LATE REGISTRATION for travel.
REFUNDS
No Refunds will be processed after 2/16/2024.
This timing aligns with team building and uniform orders.
DISCLAIMER
Schererville Soccer Clubs’ Recreational (In-House) and Rec+ (Travel) programs are outdoor sports and there may be practices and games that get canceled due to the weather and field conditions. This is beyond our control and our priority is the kid’s safety. In the event that games are canceled, we’ll do what we can to reschedule or makeup games during a practice time. Extending the season is unlikely due to school calendars, summer/winter vacations, weather and coordinating with other groups that have scheduled use of the parks with the town. No refunds will be given unless the season needs to be canceled.
*All travel participants are subject to an evaluation process by the club.
SEASON DATES
The tentative season dates are below (weather permitting).
Starts April 1st 2024 (may change due to scheduling needs between all clubs in the NWISL league)
Ends June 2024 (may change due to scheduling needs between all clubs in the NWISL league)
No tournament at the end of the fall season.
Dates and info will be passed along by your child’s Coach when details are finalized closer to season start.
PRACTICES
Practices are 2x a week, typically M/W, T/R or F and another weeknight.
Practices are held between 5-8pm or till dark at Rohrman Park in Crown Point.
GAMES
Games are mainly played on Sundays, but may include some Saturdays. They are typically in the afternoon but vary between 11:30 and 6pm due to the number of games. Travel range has been between Lansing, IL and LaPorte, IN with most games being less than 20 miles. away. 4 Games are played at Home (Rohrman Park) and 4 away.
FEES
Registration is $138 + $3 processing fee.
A Non-Volunteer Fee will be added to those not volunteering to help with the teams or field maintenance. Also helps cover rising cost of equipment/paint. Fee is $5
All Travel participants need a new uniform kit. The old navy and teal jerseys have ran their shelf life, the cost is $35.
A reusable reversible training bib (available for purchase during registration if not already purchased) must be brought to every practice and game. Fee is $6
UNIFORM INFO

-Kit will include ONE jersey, shorts, and socks
*Manufacturers make a 'run' of different styles of uniforms that last for a few years. When the 'run' or 'style' is no longer available and another style needs to be purchased, the club will notify players during the registration process.
PLAYERS NEED TO PURCHASE
· Shin guards (must be worn under socks at every practice and game)
· Soccer cleats (no toe cleat)
· Age appropriate size ball
· Water bottle (please have your child bring a bottle to each practice and game)
Club backpacks are available for purchase for $30 during registration.
ADDITIONAL INCLUDED TRAINING
There will be a weekly session with Next Gen Soccer Training and Education coaches, the day and time will be identified at the beginning of the season.

The signed waiver upload in the registration process is not required.
SPECIAL REQUESTS
The club is not taking special requests. There are no guarantees for which teammates, coach, or practice days you will get. Every year the club receives hundreds of requests and cannot possibly manage them all.
ACCOUNT PURGE
Two weeks before the season begins, an email will be sent to accounts with open balances.
One week before the season begins, any players with an unpaid balance will be removed from the team roster and the current season. Open balances must be paid before returning to play.
