Friends, Family, & Business Associates,
We apologize for this mass email message, we don’t intend it to be spam. If you are bothered by it in anyway, please simply disregard and delete it. We have been a little overwhelmed, to say the least, with the news of our daughter's diagnosis and we wanted to get this in the hands of as many friends, family, and associates as quickly as possible to allow time for planning, even if it meant duplication to some of you. A group of our friends and supporters has been working tirelessly over the past few weeks to put together this walk/run event to benefit the Niemann-Pick Foundation in honor of our nine year old daughter, Kailey. As many of you already know, she was diagnosed several weeks ago with a disease called Niemann-Pick, Type C. NPC, as it is known, is an extremely rare, incurable and degenerative neurological disorder with less than 200 confirmed cases in the US and less than 500 worldwide. It is known as "Pediatric Alzheimer's" because of the similar symptomology and disease progression.
We are asking for your help to spread the word of this event, if possible, by posting the attached PDF in your businesses or asking permission to post it in your break room or work area to help us raise awareness for this event We are trying to help fund research to help find a viable treatment until a "cure" is found. Any help at getting the word out about this walk/run fundraiser would be greatly appreciated as research funding is the key to helping all of these affected children.
The walk/run event for Kailey is being held on May 5, 2013 at the Clark Middle School Track in St. John, Indiana at 1:00PM CDT. We already have a lot of great supporters lined up and we will be providing refreshments from many area business including our very own St. John Smoothie King as well. Registration for the event is available online through Facebook by searching "Walk/Run for Kailey".
Thank you for all of the support we have already received, especially from our dedicated employees, who have helped maintain our lives while we adjust to our "new normal." Again, we appreciate you taking the time to review this information and helping us out with our new favorite cause.
