Rules For Indoor Soccer
(In conjunction with CP Sports)
RULE #1: EQUIPMENT
A) Each team is required to wear matching color and numbered jersey’s
/ T-shirts.
B) Goalkeepers must wear a different color from both teams.
C) All players must wear flat soled tennis shoes, indoor soccer
shoes, or rubber-molded soccer cleats; No outdoor shoes will be
allowed.
D) All U12 and under shall use a size #4 ball, all others shall
use size #5 ball.
E) CP Sports requires that shin guards must be worn by all players
during league play.
F) U9 will play with 6 players and a keeper for a total of
7.
G) U12 will play with 5 players and a keeper for a total of 6.
H) U15 will play with 5 players and a keeper for a total of 6.
RULE #2: DURATION OF GAME
A) All age groups will play 2 x 20 minute halves. A one-minute
half-time will be allowed to change ends.
B) The clock shall run continuously unless it is deemed necessary
to be stopped by an official. Officials are allowed to determine
if an injury requires attention & stoppage of clock.
C) Each team must be prepared and ready to play at their scheduled
time.
RULE #3: TEAMS AND PLAYERS
A) A game may start/continue with the Max (“C” above)
minus 2 players on the field.
B) The team manager/coach/captain will be responsible for the conduct
of their team.
C) For all games, an adult, over 21, must be present on the bench
prior to the start of/and throughout the game, or the team will
forfeit the match.
D) Any player entering the playing area without first signing a
waiver form may be subject to not playing during that session and
future sessions.
E) Only rostered players, and 2 adult coaches are allowed in team
boxes
RULE #4: SUBSTITUTIONS
A) Substitutions can be made on the fly, providing the player leaving
the field is inside the team area before the entry of the substitute.
At referee’s discretion, play may be temporarily “Paused” to
allow a GK substitution to be made.
RULE #5: FOULS AND MISCONDUCT
A) Yellow Card: A player who persists in misconduct after receiving
a verbal warning, or whose initial conduct is severe based upon
the judgment of the Ref., will receive a yellow card. An issued
yellow card must be served by a 2-minute penalty. A goal-against
will nullify the time penalty, but the offending player must
not return until the 2 minutes are served.
B) Red Card:
1) A player/coach who receives a red card must leave the facility
and his/her team will play short for 5 minutes. Goals-against
does not nullify the time penalty.
2) Any player/coach receiving a Red Card will be subject to Administrative
Discipline (each case reviewed separately), generally including
a one week suspension from the facility (& all activities),
with severe cases (fighting) being expelled from the facility for
the rest of the year
3) Any player/coach who receives 2 Red Cards during the year (cumulative)
will be disciplined by the Schererville Club
C) Any player “CLEATING” (referees discretion) another
player will receive an immediate red card
D) A handball inside the box will result in a yellow card or a
red card based upon the intent of the player to stop a goal; again
this is judgment of the Ref.
E) CP Sports does not allow sliding or slide tackling of any kind
(exception: GK, if no one is in playing distance to be endangered).
F) All players serving penalty time must serve the full penalty
minutes.(2min, 5min major)
G) CP Sports will not tolerate violence or abusive language of
any form.(2min, 5min major)
H) Management reserves the right to refuse any player from participation
at any time.
RULE #6: GAMES AND PROCEDURES
A) Free Kicks and Goal Clearance:
1) All restarts will be direct.
2) All defense players must be a minimum of 10 feet from the ball
when kicked. The Ref automatically gives this without warning.
Refusal to do so will result in a 2 min. penalty.
3) Balls which strike the ceiling/net will be placed at the spot
directly in the center of the nearest line or the mid-line where
the ball made contact. The player may set the ball and play without
a restart whistle.
4) Ball which strikes the side net, restart will result in placing
the ball on the white line next to the wall for a direct kick----
player does not have to wait for a restart by the referee.
5) If the ball strikes the net, ceiling or side, after being kicked
by the keeper and not touching the floor, the ball will be placed
at the center of the red line at the keeper’s end of the
field.
6) Fouls called within Penalty Box, unless a penal foul (and PK),
will be restarted with a kick from the top of the restraining arc.
7) Delay of game will result if the offensive team does not play
the ball within 5 seconds---ball will be given to defensive team.
8) 8) Corner kicks will take place at the corner spot if the ball goes out between the arc and the corner. If the ball goes out between the goal post and the arc, the ball may be place anywhere on the arc. The player does not have to wait for a restart by the referee.
B) Goalkeepers:
1) Have five seconds to distribute the ball after gaining possession;
if he fails to do so, the opposing team shall be awarded a kick
from the top of the arc. Please Note: The ball must be thrown or rolled by the Goalkeeper back into play. Kicks are not allowed. This is new for this year. If he or she fails to do so, the opposing team shall be awarded a kick from the top of the arc.
2) May have another member of his team leave the field to serve
his two minute penalties.
3) May not handle a ball played to him by a teammate’s feet
(as outdoor back-pass rule).
4) May pick ball up from his own teammate off a goal kick.
RULE #7: FORFEITED GAMES
A) A forfeit may be called by an official for the following:
1) A team cannot field the necessary number of players (max minus
2)
2) A team has two players/coaches receive Red Cards.
B) Due to the tight scheduling of games, there will be NO GRACE
PERIODS a team must have the minimum number of players and an adult
(depending on age group) at game time.
C) A team benefiting from a forfeit will have the field up until
five (5) minutes before the next scheduled game. The scheduled
referee will not officiate unless it is agreed upon.
RULE #8: SCORING
A) A goal is scored only when the entire ball has passed beyond
the goal-line. All goals shall count one.
B) Any team trailing by 5+ points, may (optionally) add an extra
player to the field, until such time as the e score is closed to
within 2 points, when the extra player must be removed.
NOTES & ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
A) In the event the game must be postponed due to adverse conditions,
please contact the facility for information. CP Sports reserves
the right to postpone games and may not be able to reschedule
games due to availability of the floor.
B) Coaches, managers, and/or captains are responsible for making
sure their respective teams understand all rules and making sure
that all team members receive copies of the scheduled games.
C) No spitting on floors, walls, or in team areas (if you must,
use the garbage cans), and no climbing/jumping of walls at anytime
will be allowed, punishable by Yellow Card (two minute penalty
or ejection from facility.
D) CP Sports reserves the right to rule accordingly in any situation,
which may occur and is not covered in the CP Sports rules.
E) Games may be suspended or forfeited if fan behavior is deemed
inappropriate by CP Sports management or referees.
F) A guest may be asked to leave CP Sports for any reason deemed
appropriate by CP Sports management.
